M&P Services Wins 2026 Connecting in the Community Award

M&P Services is proud to announce it has been named the winner of the 2026 Connecting in the Community Award at the Resource Industry Network (RIN) Awards.

The award is particularly meaningful for the family-owned Mackay business, recognising almost four decades of commitment to supporting local people, organisations, charities and community initiatives.

Since establishing in Mackay in 1986, M&P Services has embraced the philosophy of “Locals Supporting Locals”, believing that businesses have a responsibility to give back to the community that supports them.

Community involvement is embedded in the culture of M&P Services and extends well beyond financial contributions. Through fundraising, sponsorships, donations, employee volunteering and long-term partnerships, the company proudly supports more than 30 local organisations across health, sport, emergency services, mental health, environmental conservation and family support.

One of the company’s most significant community initiatives is the M&P Services – Key Solutions Annual Charity Golf Day. Established in 2016 during an economic downturn, the event was created after Managing Director Max Lamb Jr. recognised that local charities were struggling to secure vital funding.

What began with just over $8,000 raised has grown into one of Mackay’s largest one-day charity fundraising events, generating more than $425,000 to date and bringing together hundreds of players, sponsors and supporters each year. The 2026 event again exceeded its $75,000 fundraising target, demonstrating the incredible generosity and community spirit of Mackay businesses and individuals.

M&P Services also contributed $202,281 to community causes in 2025 through sponsorships, donations, fundraising and other initiatives.

In 2026, the company further strengthened its commitment to the region through a partnership with the Pioneer Catchment & Landcare Group’s Junior Landcare Ranger Program, helping primary school students develop hands-on environmental knowledge and a greater connection with the local environment.

From supporting grassroots sporting clubs and emergency services to mental health initiatives such as the Mackay Cutters’ Change the Game program, Ronald McDonald House Charities, Mackay Hospital Foundation and numerous local charities, M&P Services continues to invest in the community in meaningful and practical ways.

The award also recognises the contribution of the M&P Services team, whose employees generously volunteer their time to organise fundraising events, support community initiatives and contribute personally through programs such as Workplace Giving.

Managing Director Max Lamb Jr. said the award was a reflection of the entire M&P Services team and the wider Mackay community.

“Success isn’t just measured by the work we do – it’s measured by the difference we make in the communities that support us. Mackay has supported M&P Services for almost 40 years, and giving back is simply part of who we are.”

Winning the 2026 Connecting in the Community Award is an incredible honour for M&P Services and reinforces our commitment to continuing to support the region we proudly call home.

Locals Supporting Locals – it’s more than a philosophy. It’s part of who we are.
